Saves The Day Picture
This Princeton, N.J., band got together when its members were 13, signed a label deal while still in high school, and went on to sell thousands of records, tour with Blink-182and Weezer, and land songs on the playlist of Los Angeles’ KROQ. Saves the Day’s new album, SOUND THE ALARM was released April 11, 2006 on Vagrant Records. Saves The Day’s album, In Reverie (released Sept. 16, 2003, on DreamWorks Records), finds their creativity in full flower. Singer-songwriter-guitarist Chris Conley’s lacerating, frequently existential lyrics provide sharp counterpoint to his sweet melodic sensibility as the band exercises their penchant for a variety of rock, punk and pop hooks.

Saves The Day

If youve got a quarter you can stick in my neck
And Ill sing whatever song you want for whatever mood youre in.
Isnt that what you expect? I can sing you to sleep.
Ive got a mouth full of blood.
Well Ill carry this casket if its what I have to do.
So bring on the dark sky and let it cover me entirely.
Isnt that what you expect? I can sing you to sleep.
And all you want from me is a broken heart.
And Ill run down to the river and grab five buckets of water.
Wait right where you are and I will serve you at your table.
I hope you like my restaurant and the lighting is right.
The jukebox is in the corner. my mouth is the speaker.
It plays your favorite songs and you know where the coin slot is.
Isnt that what you expect? I can sing you to sleep.
And all you want from me is a broken heart.
