Saves The Day Picture
This Princeton, N.J., band got together when its members were 13, signed a label deal while still in high school, and went on to sell thousands of records, tour with Blink-182and Weezer, and land songs on the playlist of Los Angeles’ KROQ. Saves the Day’s new album, SOUND THE ALARM was released April 11, 2006 on Vagrant Records. Saves The Day’s album, In Reverie (released Sept. 16, 2003, on DreamWorks Records), finds their creativity in full flower. Singer-songwriter-guitarist Chris Conley’s lacerating, frequently existential lyrics provide sharp counterpoint to his sweet melodic sensibility as the band exercises their penchant for a variety of rock, punk and pop hooks.

Saves The Day

We all collected in a room, you were there
Your shirt was red, we got scared when everything stopped
I yelled at you for being so mean to me
Off my head nothing sounds right
Im mixed up and somewhat dead
I took it all so well Im so proud and Im so quiet and Im so in love
I cornered you outside, there were no walls it was so quiet
And Im so in love, just a little better now
Big brown letters and a flower, we talk and its a good talk
I ask if we could kiss and we did
They all stopped and we talked down the hall theres a whisper everythings o.k.
I took it all so well Im so proud and Im so quiet and Im so in love
I cornered you outside there were no walls it was so quiet
And Im so in love I still think of nothing all the time just about you.
